Programs

The Post is involved in a number of youth, community, and veteran’s activities.

The Post sponsors five (5) students each year for Boy's State; awards a scholarship for the Post's Citizenship Award each year; and has re-instituted the Oratorical Contest for the local high schools.  Post 305 marches in the Independence Day parade in The Woodlands, has adopted a section of the walking trails in The Woodlands, and provides the means for residents of the area to have their unserviceable American Flags disposed of in a dignified manner by The American Legion.  The Post, along with Unit 305, American Legion Auxiliary, also conducts visits to the VA Medical Center in Houston.

Expanding support of veterans and veterans activities are priorities for this year.  At the year 2000 State Convention, the Department of Texas presented Post 305 with the Second Place Award for our newsletter, The Post 305 Bugle. This award was earned through competition with over 500 other posts in the state.
