MEMORIAL DAY While there is some question about the origins of Memorial Day, over time the day became one of remembrance for all who had gave their life in battle for America. Often, particularly in times of peace, we do not observe the day as it should be, a day where we actively remember our ancestors, our family members, our loved ones, our neighbors, and our friends who have given the ultimate sacrifice. We invite you to participate. To learn more about Memorial Day, please use the following link: FLAG DAY June 14th, 1777 is the birthday of our national flag. Our flag has a rich history and each year on this day we remember the day the Stars and Stripes became our national flag.
As we all know, or should know, July 4th, 1776 is the official birth date of our great nation. As veterans, we never forget that many of our forebears paid a heavy price, often the ultimate sacrifice, so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today.
VETERANS DAY On November 11 and/or on other days associated with the observance of Veterans Day, Post 305 participates in a number of activities in the local area. Members of the Post speak at local schools or other organizations and attend the annual JROTC Pass In Review at Moorehead Stadium. |
